Jason is a birder, bird photographer, guide, and lifelong lover of the outdoors. He’s also a husband and dad, and is happiest when he can get his family outside, binoculars in hand, discovering something new together.

Jason has served as President of Flagler Audubon Society for 11 years and counting, and is excited to bring Birds of a Feather Festival back to Flagler County. He founded BoFF out of a simple desire to celebrate birds, connect people with the places they live, and create the kind of birding community where everyone feels welcome.

When he’s not working on the festival, you’ll probably find Jason wandering Florida’s wild places with a camera, leading a bird walk, or talking far too enthusiastically about some bird he just saw.

Gallus is co-owner of Archaeopteryx Birding & Nature Tours and Associate Director for Lake County Office of Parks & Trails. Gallus holds a BS in Biology from Kutztown University and worked as a hawkwatch counter at Bake Oven Knob in PA and Montclair in NJ as well as worked with the critically endangered Florida Grasshopper Sparrow at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park in Okeechobee, Florida. Gallus began his interest in birds at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in 8th grade, has done two big years, Florida in 2008 and Lake County in 2015, has traveled to multiple countries and states for birding and is currently an eBird volunteer reviewer for Lake & Sumter Counties. Gallus has led guided trips to the Dry Tortugas and Florida Keys, all over Central Florida, Magee Marsh in Ohio, South Africa, and Costa Rica. Gallus’ list totals are World List 2006, ABA 726, and Florida 471. Gallus has also been a trip lead at several festivals across Florida and leads quarterly bird & butterfly surveys for Lake County Office of Parks & Trails on the county’s conservation lands.

Jimi is a Central Florida native who has spent his life exploring and sharing the natural beauty of the area. With over 10 years of experience leading paddle tours and outdoor adventures, Jimi is a Florida Master Naturalist with a deep passion for sharing the beauty of Florida's waterways. His knack for storytelling and a love for dad jokes guarantee you’ll leave his tours smiling—whether from a belly laugh or an eye-roll!

Jimi graduated from Eustis High School and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education. His heart for mentoring and adventure led him to work as a wilderness program guide for at-risk teens in the Seminole State Forest, and he continues to inspire others as a mentor at Journey Christian Church.

A competitive athlete, Jimi participates in 5K races, obstacle courses, trail runs, and paddle races across the state, with more than 500 events under his belt since 2011.

I'm an ecologist, field technician, and most of all a birder! I've spent most of my life in the Midwest, but now live in Northeast Florida, where I spend as much time birding my home county as I can. Rebecca is the owner/operator of Archaeopteryx Birding and Nature Tours. Since 2000 during her internship studying Dotted Skippers and Diamondback Terrapins in New Jersey, Rebecca's passion for the natural world and biodiversity spread from entomology and herpetology to birding. She holds a master naturalist certification and has now taken up photography. Rebecca's greatest love is traveling the world in search of birds and wildlife to photograph, however you can often find her right at home in the Ocala National Forest, or the Kissimmee chain of lakes, with her Olympus OMI MarkII in hand.
