Bird Walk at Hewlett Swamp

Meeting Point: Main trailhead parking area at 9:00 AM.

Explore the quiet pine flatwoods and cypress swamp habitats of Hewlett Swamp in Palm Coast during peak winter birding season. This protected freshwater wetland sanctuary provides an excellent cold-weather haven for wintering songbirds, wading birds, and resident raptors. We will scout the shaded forest paths and wetland margins for wintering warblers, sparrows, kinglets, woodpeckers, and Barred Owls. Free and open to birders of all experience levels.

What to Bring: Binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, water, and bug spray.

Terrain: Easy, flat unpaved dirt trails and natural paths.
