Annual Flagler County Christmas Bird Count

Location: Flagler County Count Circle (Palm Coast, Flagler Beach, & surrounding preserves, FL)

Meeting Point: Assigned by sector leaders prior to count day.

Be a part of the world’s longest-running community science project! Join fellow birders, naturalists, and volunteers for the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count as we census wintering and resident bird populations across our designated 15-mile count circle. Participants will team up in small field parties to count every individual bird seen and heard within habitats ranging from coastal beaches and estuarine marshes to pine flatwoods and oak hammocks. Data collected plays a critical role in tracking long-term trends in bird populations and conservation health. Open to birders of all skill levels, from beginners paired with experienced party leaders to seasoned field observers.

What to Bring: Binoculars, field guide, mobile device with eBird (optional), packed lunch, snacks, water, layered outerwear for early morning weather, and sun protection. Terrain: Varies by assigned sector (paved paths, wooden boardwalks, beach sand, and unpaved forest trails).
