Explore the expansive marsh cells, boardwalks, and crushed-gravel trails of Sweetwater Wetlands Park in Gainesville. As one of North Central Florida's premier birding destinations, this wetland park provides crucial habitat for thousands of wintering waterfowl, wading birds, and marsh species. We will scout the open water and vegetation for wintering ducks, Sora, Limpkins, and soaring raptors. Free and open to birders of all experience levels.
What to Bring: Binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, water, and bug spray.
Terrain: Easy, flat unpaved crushed-gravel paths and wooden boardwalks.
